We just like to have fun!

It’s no secret, we like to have fun at work!

While we take our work seriously and want to constantly improve our product for our users, it’s also important to unwind and socialise as a team.

In today's blog post we'll show you some of the activities we've gotten up to recently when we've stepped away from our laptops.

April

The Engineering team met up for a workshop in April, where we covered important topics (read our  Engineering Workshop blog for the meaty details) but also enjoyed being together as a group:

Then, a bit of axe throwing helped to round up a good day…

May

We hosted our Advocacy Engineered conference in London with 10 speakers and over 190 senior marketers, where we talked about all things customer advocacy.

The team attended the conference to listen to the talks and take in the atmosphere, and we all had lunch at our local pub, The Pilgrim. Plus, we got a branded t-shirt!

To finish off a great day, there was an after-party with a live band where we celebrated together as a company.

Alex (centre at the back) is quite tall but not that tall - he’s standing on a chair!

June

We couldn’t have asked for a better day to go on a boat trip along the Thames. It was a sunny afternoon and more than 25 of us spent a few hours having fun on the river. After which, we continued our celebrations in a riverside bar for more food and drinks…

July

We also like to have fun as a whole company — our most recent event was the Summer Party!

Dulwich Sports Club didn’t know what hit them when we took over the field for a few classic sports games (think egg & spoon and sack racing).

Everyone in the company is split into houses (yes…like Hogwarts!), so there were serious points up for grabs, adding to the tension. After an afternoon of activities, we continued the party in the clubhouse for more food and drinks…

There we also have regular clubs for people to get involved in:

  • Running 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
  • Board games 🎲
  • Chess ♟♞
  • Poker ♠️♥️♣️♦️
  • Book 📚

On the board game night we had in August, we played Skull and Herd Mentality which was good fun!  In September, we have a poker night - that's when the sharks come out 🦈

Working hard but having fun along the way is a big part of the culture at Mention Me.

Referral marketing -

We analysed over 9,000 A/B tests from 800 businesses to discover which types of experiments really boost referral performances.

By tweaking aspects like the text, rewards, and images in referral offers — and measuring results when tests were statistically significant — we now know the most impactful tests to run in 2025.

We also used Generative AI to analyse parts of our referral offer designs, combining these findings with our historic A/B test results to see which imagery captivates customers the most.

So, which design elements spark referrals? Are simple offers or detailed promotions better for acquiring new customers?
